Hayley MacCallum has been teaching for 3 years, and is currently teaching nursing and medical students at Yokohama City University. Before becoming a teacher, Hayley was a nurse in the UK and Australia for 9 years, spending most of that time working as an emergency room nurse. In addition, she also has experience in surgical and medical nursing.
Since becoming a teacher, she has worked in the UK and Saudi Arabia, where she taught medical English, EAP and general English to prep year students. After working in Saudi Arabia, she completed an MA in Applied Linguistics at Lancaster University in the UK, and moved to Japan. Despite leaving nursing, she enjoys being able to utilise her nursing experience in other ways through teaching and helping colleagues. One day she hopes to be able to contribute to the research and publishing worlds with her unique skills.
