Mellisa Ogasawara has been teaching in Japan for 20 years. She joined Aomori University of Health and Welfare in 2007 and teaches English to first- and second-year nursing, physical therapy, social welfare and nutrition students. She also helps run an annual workshop for community members interested in volunteer medical interpreting.
In class, Mellisa aims to build students’ self-confidence and communicative competence. Recently, she has become interested in extensive listening and reading.
