Rima Ghashut is an ophthalmologist who graduated from Tripoli Medical University, Libya in 2005, and she came to Japan in 2013 as a Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship selectee, opting for a further higher education. She graduated in March 2018 from the Kyoto University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences with a medical doctorate degree (PhD).
Rima previously carried out her duties including teaching and supervising medical students, interns and junior doctors back home. Upon arrival to Japan in 2014 she became part of the Center of Medical Education at Kyoto University.
Currently she is a part-time lecturer in the Department of Clinical English at Nara Medical University, where she teaches medical and nursing students. Her work interest in medical communication skills and language integrated learning.
If she is not engaged in her ongoing research project which combines the two of her interests, and not in the classroom, she would be indoors enjoying the sound of the silence, sometimes outdoors hiding behind her camera as the best moments can be seen through its lens.
