Takako Inada has been working as a professor at Japan University of Health Sciences in Saitama since completing her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of London in 2017. She teaches nursing students English which includes medical English. She has made efforts to raise the English-learning motivation of her students with no inherent interest in English. She is also a chairperson of her school’s international exchange committee, which is to establish exchange programs with several healthcare universities.
She has published textbooks (Online TOEIC Course: Media Educational Center in Kanda University of International Studies, 2007; Online Translation Course I/II/III: ISS Institute, Inc., 2007; Beyond the Headlines: English through the Media: Nan’undo, 2007) and translated books as well. Additionally, she has been a freelance translator and interpreter, a Japanese teacher, a STEP/TEAP examiner, and an English tour guide. Her research interests include second language acquisition, educational psychology, the development of speaking skills, sociolinguistics and bilingualism.
